8th October

Today at Forest School we were digging up weeds and I got the muddiest because I was picking up the mud. I found three grubs and a white worm.
I was the group leader today so it was my job to keep everyone working hard. We used forks and spades and found a couple of potatoes. We played a game where we all swapped coats (so that nobody could tell who we were) it was really funny!

Today I was in the gardening group. It was a windy afternoon. It was very annoying when there was a little weed and when I dug it up there was half the gardening patch hanging off it! I dug my spade in as far as it would go as it was a very big weed but I couldn't get it out!
But overall, it was great...

24th September

Today at Forest School, we were digging up weeds! Mia, Tia and Abby were digging up a carpet that was really strong material, so it was really hard plus there were really strong weeds! After that we were talking about this very blog and then Abby tripped over! Mia dug up a maggot uuuurrrrggggghhhhhhh! Then we played this game called camouflage 3 times and only one person got spotted because he fell over in the stinging nettles!

At Forest School, Lewis, Samuel , Robbie and Henry did gardening and weeding  together and Lewis found a giant potato – even bigger than last week’s! Lewis and Robbie found a massive weed and we worked together to dig it out and got it out in the end. Henry found eight potatoes in the patch he was digging, a few were small, a few were big and a few were humungous!

17th September

At Forest School, I had a smashing time. We were asked to do some weeding today and were given big forks to dig them up.
CJ and I were digging up potatoes in the Forest School garden. A side effect of our digging was a huge hole – luckily nobody fell in! It was cool, I love getting muddy! We found one of the world’s smallest carrots and the biggest potato – it was massive! It was the size of my fists joined together.
There were shield bugs, a frog and loads of spiders. Lewis told us all about how to tell if the garden spider was male or female. The one we rescued was male because it had large fangs.
We went in early today, after a short game. It was ok though because Mary King from the Olympic equestrian team had come to show us her silver medal. It didn’t look very heavy when she was holding it, but it weighed a ton.
